Letter to the Nigerian President

Dear Presido,

I watched on the news as some Ghanaian analyst called you a weak man and i thought would we prefer to have a mad man or weak man as a president? And then I had all these unanswered questions:

What leader would go on international tv and say that bokoharam has indeed infiltrated his cabinet and is amongst members of his staff, in all arms of governance?

What kind of president will sit and approve a budget of almost N1b for his personal feeding when his people are living on less than $2 a day?

What kind of president would admit on air that he is not aware that the minimum wage agreed upon has not been implemented?

What kind of president would admit that the cabals are ruling the nation and that his arms are tied when he has actually identified some of them?

What kind of president would listen to someone who claims that we borrow money in trillions for subsidy yet subsidy removal will save us money? How does that actually work when we are borrowing to pay?

What kind of president will allow the national assembly to consume over N1.2trillion per annum?

What kind of president will see all this and still say the Nigerian populace have no right to revolt?

What kind of president would claim to deregulate PMS and then still allow PPPRA to decide and regulate pricing?

What kind of president would allow culprits who spent N700b in renovating our refineries go free after non-performance?

What kind of president will sit still while Boko Haram give Christians and southerners ultimatums and then tell us that there is nothing to worry about?

What kind of president would give in to a few people who don’t care about the Nigerian people?

How can our government make us believe that they are still negotiating only to implement?

How can they expect us to sit still when instead of things getting better, they are getting worse?

How can the Minister of Health say on National Tv that he doesn’t know how much is needed in his department when a budget has been approved?

How can the Minister of Agric convince us to buy into the cassava bread business when he has no idea how much it will cost yet he knows how much we will save?

How can the president convince us to believe and buy into his plan for Power reforms yet he approves billions for generators and diesel.

How can our president not see that deregulation of diesel has caused cost of production to go up and many of our factories have moved to nearby Ghana because power is stable there and cost of production is relatively cheaper?

How can our presido not see that while a bottle of Nigerian beer sells for N160 here, the same brand sells for less than N100 in Ghana?

Is our President Mad or weak?

Why should we suffer for the government’s continued corruption, misappropriation of funds, incompetence, favouritism and bullheadedness????

Why should we keep quiet anymore?

We shall not be taken for granted anymore. We know we have to fight and we know who we are fighting.

Enough is enough!
