I looked out my window
It was raining!
I was mesmerized
Movement – People were still moving
There were buses in the parks and on the roads
There were cars dodging busses
There were okadas dodging cars dodging buses
Then there were people
People hawking goods,
People walking the streets
I realized that in Lagos,
Under the rain
In the Sun
Anytime of the day
People will always ‘Waka Waka’
It’s the craze of Lagos
Motivation for movement? (You ask)
It’s the Norm
Or
It’s the Search
The search for something
The search for something Better
The search for a better LIFE
It’s believed, we believe, Nigerians believe
‘E go must better’
So we move
We move from the villages to the cities
We move to Lagos
We hustle, we squat, we share, we WAKA
We search
We Search for something
We search for something better
I looked out my window
The rain had stopped
I smiled
There was Traffic!

The KISS
It was the thought
It was the magnetic pull
It was the fading of lights
It was the heightened feeling
It was the touch of the hands
It was the feeling on the skin
It was the warm breathe on the face
It was the shutting of the eyes
It was the numbness of the brain
It was the racing of the heart
It was the joining of lips
It was the joining of hearts
It was the anticipation
It was the exhiliration
It was the KISS!
It was the magnetic pull
It was the fading of lights
It was the heightened feeling
It was the touch of the hands
It was the feeling on the skin
It was the warm breathe on the face
It was the shutting of the eyes
It was the numbness of the brain
It was the racing of the heart
It was the joining of lips
It was the joining of hearts
It was the anticipation
It was the exhiliration
It was the KISS!
